The difference between protecting one's culture and outright excluding others is as simple as whether or not you allow immigrants to legally become citizens and reside in your country. If you don't give them equal opportunities, especially after they become citizens, that is not protecting one's culture, that is discrimination.

dont let the illegal immagrants take our jobs, money, housing, etc. just because they are a minority, instead give them an equal opportunity.

The line should be drawn where the border is. It is not the U.S's problem if people from different countries are trying to come in from their poor, scary country.
