How might the pursuit of happiness change in a society where the state guarantees all your needs?

It would be a lot easier but a lot less people would want to work and not work as hard.

From the perspective of the person with all needs granted, they will reach for higher goals out of their reach, possibly committing crimes to do so.

People will have less motivation and determination to work for things like income and other important things. There will also be less competition in business, which causes and economic decline.

It might limit opportunities, because the state does not have as many resources as the federal government. It would also limit the candidates for opportunities, because it would be limited to the people in that state.
