It would bring some relief to think that there is a safety net.

If my house burns down and I don't have insurence because I cant afford it because im living off of minimum wage I will be homeless and starve, if we have a safety net for basic needs ill know that i wont starve.

I would be worried that the government would have to much control over me.

If people didn't have to worry about things like food and what meal they're going to eat next, they would be a lot less stress
