Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
Social › Abortion
2>2 Personal answerPro-choice, I don’t agree but the government has no right to ban it |
Social › Gay Marriage
2>2 Personal answerYes |
Domestic Policy › Gun Control
2>2 Personal answerNo, but increase penalties for gun-related crimes |
Social › Religious Freedom Act
2>2 Personal answerNo |
the Economy › Minimum Wage
2>2 Personal answerA flat out huge adjustment such as the $15 that has been proposed will only increase costs making it harder for even those above minimum wage to purchase goods and services. There is a lot of ground between $7.25 an hour (drastically less for those who earn tips, which is hugely unfair as not everyone tips!) and a flat increase that slightly more than doubles the rate. Also, there should be some type of calculation of minimum by age or dependents. I don't think a high school kid working part time to have spending money is on the same level as a single mother (father, sibling, etc., etc. there are many varying scenarios)or married person supporting children or disabled or elderly dependents. |
the Environment › Climate Change
2>2 Personal answerYes, and provide more incentives for alternative energy production |
Domestic Policy › Drug Policy
2>2 Personal answerYes, for medical purposes only. |
Domestic Policy › Term Limits
2>2 Personal answerYes, term limits will increase performance and prevent corruption |
Immigration › Immigration
2>2 Personal answerOnly after reaching the legal age of adult and then after serving a minimum time in the U.S. Military. Our borders need tighter control and immigration is a huge problem and strain on social services (which I do NOT believe should be offered to non citizens) however, children brought here by parents have no say in where they are taken. But citizenship should not be a given just for that reason. If you are here illegally as a child, it should be earned at the time of adulthood. Illegal adults should be deported (along with any family they bring) and try to obtain entry through legal channels. |
Education › Student Loans
2>2 Personal answerYes |
Social › Death Penalty
2>2 Personal answerYes, but only for horrific crimes with undeniable evidence |
Healthcare › Marijuana
2>2 Personal answerYes, and legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana instead of criminalizing it |
Social › Government Mandates
2>2 Personal answerNo, it should be covered like any other prescription |
Domestic Policy › NSA Domestic Surveillance
2>2 Personal answerNo |
Immigration › Illegal Immigrant Detainment
2>2 Personal answerYes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities and deported |
Domestic Policy › Gerrymandering
2>2 Personal answerYes, gerrymandering gives an unfair advantage to the party in power during redistricting |
Healthcare › Medicaid
2>2 Personal answerNo. See previous comments related to welfare. It is not a right it is assistance! |
Immigration › Border Security
2>2 Personal answerYes, and allow border states to manage their own security policy |
the Environment › Alternative Energy
2>2 Personal answerYes, wind power is the best alternative to coal and natural gas |
Immigration › Immigration Healthcare
2>2 Personal answerNo, and we should deport all illegal immigrants |
Immigration › Immigrant Laborers
2>2 Personal answerNo, fine companies that employ illegal immigrants |
Domestic Policy › Patriot Act
2>2 Personal answerYes, but limit the scope of the government’s powers |
the Economy › Government Spending
2>2 Personal answerNo, increase taxes on large multinational corporations instead |
Foreign Policy › Israel
2>2 Personal answerAiding to keep peace in the world is one thing that as a world power we should do. However, we should not overly involve ourselves in the running of another nation unless there is die f the pat to the U.S. We are not the know all, be all of the world and have MANY issues in our own country that we can't solve. We should perhaps get our collective act together before overly advising others how to do so. |
Immigration › Immigrant Assimilation
2>2 Personal answerThey should not be required to learn English. However, it is the national language and if they chose not to learn it that is their problem. If an American immigrates to a non-English speaking country no one goes out of their way to add English to documents, add multilingual options at nearly every large corporate level for consumers, add free translators. If you immigrate to a country , you immigrate to that country. You should not expect that things there change to that of your country of origin. If want to have your own language and practices and disdain those of the U.S. then stay in your own country! |
Social › First Amendment
2>2 Personal answerNo, religion is an important aspect of our country’s history |
Domestic Policy › Net Neutrality
2>2 Personal answerNo, this would allow them to remove competition, create artificial scarcity, and increase prices |
Social › Euthanasia
2>2 Personal answerYes, but only if there is no chance they will survive their illness |
Domestic Policy › Affirmative Action
2>2 Personal answerAbsolutely not! If we want racism to end and there to be equality we have to stop treating certain races or minorities differently. You should not receive more funding, a job, increased services or anything based on the color of your skin or your nationality. That is racism against those who do not qualify simply due to their race, nationality, religion, etc. |
the Economy › Labor Unions
2>2 Personal answerHelp, in theory but have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited |
Immigration › In-State Tuition
2>2 Personal answerNo, and all illegal immigrants should be deported |
Education › Common Core
2>2 Personal answerYes, I support the concept but not the current implementation |
the Environment › Oil Drilling
2>2 Personal answerNo, but maintain our current offshore oil wells |
Foreign Policy › United Nations
2>2 Personal answerYes, and use the U.N. peacekeeping forces to protect our interests |
the Environment › Fracking
2>2 Personal answerNo, we should pursue more sustainable energy resources instead |
Healthcare › Obamacare
2>2 Personal answerYes, I support a majority of the plan but not all aspects |
Foreign Policy › Drones
2>2 Personal answerNo, only to gather intelligence, not to kill suspected terrorists |
Foreign Policy › Terrorism
2>2 Personal answerNo, they are not U.S. citizens and do not have constitutional rights |
Foreign Policy › War on ISIS
2>2 Personal answerHow do you declare war on a multinational organization? What we should do is protect our country and people and fight terrorism in any form. Whether is ISIS or some home grown cult of America haters they should all be treated as enemies of the U.S. And treated, hunted, brought to trial and punished as such. We should not stand by to any faction that carries out such atrocities and threatens our nation and or citizens. |
Foreign Policy › NSA Surveillance
2>2 Personal answerYes, surveillance of all foreign countries is essential to tracking potential terrorist threats |
Foreign Policy › Cuba
2>2 Personal answerYes |
the Economy › Farm Subsidies
2>2 Personal answerYes, but only small local farms instead of large corporations |
the Economy › Property Taxes
2>2 Personal answerNo, property taxes are the most reliable and consistent form of state revenue |
the Economy › Pension Reform
2>2 Personal answerNo. Many positions for state and local government are paid at a wage far below what they would make in the private sector. And many work in the public sector all their working lives out of the love of helping others. There should be a stable supported retirement as a trade off. However, I strongly believe that the pension and benefits that those in congress and the senate receive for even serving one term is ridiculous and nothing short of robbery and a slap to the face of hard working Americans. They should have benefits that are prorated to time served. |
